Gender Responsive, target for SRC PAPs

GENERAL SANTOS CITY. Last May 29-31, 2017, PSHS-SRC, facilitated by the GAD Committee, held a three-day GAD Evaluation and Planning Seminar-Workshop at Greenleaf Hotel.

With the goal of designing and implementing gender responsive programs, activities and projects, the campus conducted three-day seminar-workshop for both male and female personnel who were given the chance to raise concerns about the existing GAD programs of the campus.

Updates on the government’s effort to implement the Magna Carta Of Women were also presented, especially the newly-passed bill that expands the current maternity and paternity leaves from 30 to 120 days and from 7 days to 30 days, respectively.

On the same event, male and female personnel were also equipped with skills in crafting programs essential to gender and development and mainstreaming their respective unit activities to GAD by identifying gender issues in the classroom.

Through the training, male and female teachers were able to acquire new skills on gender sensitive curriculum pacing and classroom management.

The tree- day activity concluded with the Recollection and Gender Sensitive Stress Management Seminar facilitated by Bro. Arianwen Dagmar Androu T. Lopez, FSC  who shared his expertise and knowledge with humor and wit.

With the learnings acquired by the SRC personnel, a more gender responsive SRC was set as an unceasing commitment of the campus.
