PSHS- SOCCSKSARGEN Region Campus took part in the annual month- long celebration of the National Women’s Month by carrying out its theme “We Make Change Work for Women” through various gender responsive activities which are empowering to both sexes.

The celebration opened with the block screening of the movie “Hidden Figures”, participated by the students, faculty and staff last March 2, 2017 at Cinema 1, KCC Mall of Marbel, Koronadal City.

The said kick- off activity was followed by simultaneous events on March 17, 2017 at the campus. Students participated in the class canvass painting contest focusing on the theme of the celebration, while the faculty, staff and parents attended the forum on Managing Teenage Children graced by Dr. Gina Alvarez, one of the parents, as the resource person.

Also, the PSHS-SRC personnel, both male and female, visited the Dole Philippines Kalsangi Clubhouse at Polomolok, South Cotabato last March 30, 2017. They were grouped and had their bowling tournament at General Santos City on that afternoon.

To culminate the celebration, women of Brgy Paraiso were invited to participate in the Livelihood Seminar-Workshop organized by the SRC-GAD Committee. The beneficiaries received their own manicure and pedicure livelihood set last March 31, 2017. They were also given the certificate from TESDA-XII in which they need in order to take the National Competency in manicure and pedicure.

SRC, true to its gender and development mandate, continues to recognize ‘change’ as a conscious effort to promote gender mainstreaming activities to its stakeholders, regardless of gender.
