PSHS SRC celebrates NSTW 2016 ^Featured

With the overall theme “Juan Science. One Nation,” this year’s NSTW celebrated simultaneously in various regions of the country. PSHS-SRC takes part by hosting the ΦΨ Brain Teasers and ΦΨ Challenge, during the Region XII Chapter Celebration, July 25-26, 2016.

Commemorative ceremonies and activities showcasing the contribution of S&T to national development were the highlight of the two-day event.

The PSHS SRC together with DOST SOCCSKSARGEN Region held an open house exhibit at SM Mall of Gensan to feature new technologies and innovation. Among the activities conducted were forum for SMEs, which was attended by the local entrepreneurs, and the first ever Pisay Brain Teasers, a quiz show that measures knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math subjects.

The event was participated by 27 elementary schools from SOCCSKSARGEN, represented by a grade 6 and a grade 5 pupils. PSHS-SRC also reached out the high school students of local municipalities to participate the Pisay Challenge, a timed science puzzle and games which resembles the ability of students to apply the theory and methods of physics, chemistry and technology. Formed by a group of five, 8 high school teams and a special participation of an elementary students from SOCCSKSARGEN, accomplished challenges and experience fun in science.
